The Life Science Centre is a fully accessible venue providing access friendly facilities for all visitors.
If you have any special access requirements please get in touch before you visit by calling (0191) 243 8210 so that we can meet your needs.
Carers of disabled visitors are admitted free of charge (1 carer per paying visitor); the normal ticket price applies to the disabled visitor. If you’re buying online, please leave a note in the ‘additional comments’ box when placing your order to let us know you will be accompanied by a carer.
FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
Baby change facilities on all floors (kits are available from dispensers at a cost of £1).*
Free bottle and food warming facilities.
Children’s meals (freshly made on the premises where possible).
*The baby changing facilities located by Life Café on the ground floor are designed for baby changing and to provide privacy for nursing mothers should they require it (there is no toilet). The baby changing facilities located near the entrance and on the upper floor combine a disabled toilet and baby change facilities.
Maker Faire UK may not be suitable for very young children – we’re expecting big crowds and many of the craft activities will involve scissors, sharp implements and small components. You know your children best – all ages are welcome.
Due to the number of activities, there will be little room for buggies.
**A £10 deposit is required, £8 of which is returnable in exchange for the key.
